Yes the 1.4.1 supports this command and I use it, the problem whit it is
that waits for the queue to be empty an then stop the SMSC. By the way, wich
version are you using?, I suppose that you are using modem too am I right?.

1.4.1 is a quite old version. I think the stop-smsc is not available in that
version. Check change log to see when it was introduced.
