Hello,
I am using lispmob and I have few questions :
- Do we have to manually configure the network before launching the
program ?
It depends if you are using LISPmob in router mode or mobile mode. In
router mode you should configure all the interfaces before launching the
program (RLOC and EID interfaces). In mobile mode you only have to
configure the RLOC interfaces. The EID is assigned to the tun interface
created when LISPmob is started.
- What is the difference between database mapping and static map cache ?
LISP use a mapping system (Map Resolvers) to obtain where an EID is
located (EID --> RLOCs). The database mapping is used to configure local
EIDs and the RLOCs or locators that should be used for this EIDs. There
is an internal database called map cache where we store the EID to RLOCs
mappings obtained from the mapping system. We can use the static map
cache entry to introduce a hardcoded entry to the map cache (it is not
obtained from the mapping system).
Finally I will like to point you that LISPmob has been renamed and now
is called Open Overlay Router <http://openoverlayrouter.org/>. The code
of LISPmob has been frozen and new features will be added to this new
project.
Best regards
Albert
Thank you for your help
