I have tried both with and without this parameter.

The reason I tried without is to keep it all as simple as possible. In
the sample app, I tried it with without (using my attached
global_filters.xml). No error message appeared (as I expected), but
class="error" still appeared on the invalid fields. But then using the
same global_filters.xml in my app did not result in class="error" in
the fields. Therefore I suspect the issue is somewhere else.

Michal.
