That would indicate that the radio is communicating with the radio up to the point where the cloning process is starting. However, at the point where the error occurred, the radio did not reply with the expected ack. The debug.log should show what the expected ack was and what, if anything, was returned. To make sure that CHIRP is working properly, I dug my UV-B5 out and successfully read from it.
