Hi Rich, The usual cause for this error is that the 2-pin plug does not have a proper connection with the socket of the radio. A good example of this is that if you leave the plug disconnected from the radio and attempt a download, the result is exactly the same. Also for those running CHIRP under Windows, a similar situation can be caused when the device driver installed by Windows is not compatible with the USB-to-Serial chip inside the programming cable.
