I've also had issues with the two-pin plug seating firmly. Different Baofeng, and I don't remember the exact errors, but it was fixed when I REALLY seated the plug in there. It took a surprising amount of effort to get the final click, but once I did that, I had no further issues, everything communicated happily and reliably.
