Hello everyone, I have a modified version of the TYT TH-UV99 that supports additional frequency ranges — for example, 300–360 MHz.
When I try to use CHIRP, I can successfully download channels in the 300–350 MHz range from the radio. However, I’m unable to edit them due to the following error: “Invalid edit: Frequency 300.050000 is out of supported range.” I checked the driver (chirp.drivers.th_uv88), and it appears that the supported ranges are hardcoded in the VALID_BANDS variable to: [(136000000, 174000000), (400000000, 480000000)] See this line for reference: https://chirpmyradio.com/projects/chirp/repository/github/revisions/master/entry/chirp/drivers/th_uv88.py#L538 I’m thinking about modifying this line to include the range my radio supports: VALID_BANDS = [(136000000, 174000000), (300000000, 360000000), (400000000, 480000000)] Would that allow me to edit and upload those channels back to the radio? And if so, where exactly should I make this change — do I need to recompile CHIRP, or is there a simpler way?
