The chirp screen for configuring memory channels works similar to a spreadsheet (it seems a specialized spreadsheet).
If you have the data already saved to a file and then delete something within the app it may remain recoverable by not overwriting the original image. If you overwrite the original image file then the original data content is gone entirely.
