It appears you had a space within the file name The example was '(ex: chirp-20240522-py3-none-any.whl)` What it appears you used was " ./'chirp-20251108-py3-none-any .whl' " and it looks like you had a space between 'any' and '.whl'
Just as an FYI I do not use pipx on fedora. Instead I use pip as my regular user, and I use the tar.gz file with the command `pip install --update ./chirp-20251108.tar.gz` and it properly updates the already installed version. Chirp is installed as my regular user under ~/.local/lib/python-3.14/site-packages Jeff On Tue, Nov 18, 2025 at 8:17 PM K0LNY ?? via Users < [email protected]> wrote: > Never mind, I think there was an error in the file name. > I got it to work. > Glenn > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "K0LNY ?? via Users" <[email protected]> > To: "A list for users of chirp to discuss usage, tips, and other relevant > topics" <[email protected]> > Cc: "K0LNY ??" <[email protected]> > Sent: Tuesday, November 18, 2025 8:07 PM > Subject: [users] error installing on Trixie > > > Hi All, > I received an error installing Chirp on Debian Trixie, it stated that it > is > not supported on this platform, I'll paste the steps below: > Thanks for any clues. > > sudo apt install python3-wxgtk4.0 pipx > > The next steps should work for all versions of Linux using pip, assuming > you > have the base dependencies from the distro installed above.
