i just want to know should i use the router inbuilt firewall + iptables to connect to internet or simply dial to connect with only iptables as firewall.if i use the router then a cracker can hack into router and steal my user and pass and if i dial then cracker has to hack linux which is umm..nearly impossible as i keep it up-to-date but don't know about the zero day exploits..and my user and pass remains safe in /etc. so i personally think that dialling out is best for me. i just want advice on which interface to use -eth0 or ppp0 and how easy it is to crack these cheap dlink routers.hope i make myself more clear now.
