Hi all, The time has come. We are going to start the summer training course on 28th of June (Saturday) , 7PM IST. Before we start there are few things I want to discuss about.
First of all , the whole event will be based on IRC/mailing list. So if you are yet to join the mailing list, please join it. All announcements will be there. http://lists.dgplug.org/listinfo.cgi/users-dgplug.org To join irc , easiest thing is to install chatzilla plugin for firefox , and then join the irc.freenode.net and then the room is #dgplug. Now though many of you is very new to GNU/Linux , but we will try to keep a pace, for that you have to spend time by yourself on this training. For the basic shell knowledge , please go through http://tldp.org/LDP/Bash-Beginners-Guide/Bash-Beginners-Guide.pdf Also don't forget to add your name in http://wiki.dgplug.org/index.php/System_Admin_Basics In one course, "C programming using GCC" will be taught. But the trainer can not spend time on teaching basics of C. So please go through the basics of C programming or else it will be very difficult for you to catch up.
