I agree with Kushal da on this. Please involve guys from other colleges too. From what I hear, the college I used to study at (NIT Dgp) is now a Nodal Center of the WB government to promote FOSS. I used to be a Fedora user but its package management system sucked. If it's not much better now, I think the newbies need option. Our only aim is spreading freedom. IMO, you guys can distribute Ubuntu Ultimate to newbies too. It is very easy for newbies. It contains some proprietary codecs but i think once you are into a Free OS, people will learn to eliminate whats harmful themselves so that should not be an issue.
