It depends on who your employer is and the agreement.

Some companies may not allow their developers to work with F/OSS
projects that turn out to be their competitors. Or, some F/OSS
projects expect you to sign a Contributor's Agreement, that you agree
to assign the copyright to the project, and the company that you work
for should not claim the code written by you to be theirs.

I was just curious if people knew about it.
