Did you sent a generated key by email to yourself with the built-in CA? If so make sure that "Encrypt mode" of the CA sender (the "CA email" address set in the CA settings) to "No encrypt". Otherwise the email with the PFX file will be encrypted (since there is now a certificate) and you will receive an encrypted messages containing the private key (a catch-22).
