can you add the following namespace to soap.xml (just below xmlns:httpj): xmlns:sec="http://cxf.apache.org/configuration/security"; So the xml header should look like: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans"; xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"; xmlns:jaxws="http://cxf.apache.org/jaxws"; xmlns:httpj="http://cxf.apache.org/transports/http-jetty/configuration"; xmlns:sec="http://cxf.apache.org/configuration/security"; Then restart to see whether this fixes it. Note to others: this is only needed if you allow external systems to connect to the SOAP interface over SSL.
