* Did the Live DVD work before installing?
* Boot at least one different Live spin for comparison, e.g. GNOME.
* What does your favourite audio player do when you start playback?
  For example, does it show progress but remains silent?
* Collect data from "lspci -v" and "lsmod" and "dmesg".
