Look for 'session management' in your desktop environment. In KDE for example you can save a session configuration and configure your login to restore it automatically. It doesn't work 100% with non-KDE apps but it does save a lot of time. Also, browsers have their own way of doing things, usually described as 'restore windows/tabs at startup' or something similar.
