Start it from a terminal and see if anything shows up on stderr. When I run it I get thousands of lines of output (but I apparently did the initial setup long ago and forgot about it because it already knows I have a solidoodle 2 (antique :-) 3d printer. Even though I'm up to date on fedora 33, I also get a notice that a new version of cura is available, so f33 isn't the latest either.
