I copied /usr/lib/systemd/system/plocate-updatedb.timer to /etc/systemd/system/plocate-updatedb.timer and changed RandomizedDelaySec from 12h to 2h which is supposed to mean it runs sometime between midnight and 2am.
It did work that way of fedora 37, yet with the same changes in fedora 38 it is running at around 3:30 in the afternoon.
