Some vendors have released laptops with pre-installed linux, but using drivers that don't immediately appear in linux distributions. Models intended for use in large organizations generally don't change hardware specs as quickly as consumer products, but when I tried to purchase a name-brand laptop identical to those used by one large organization I was told they are only sold in large batches with Windows Enterprise images specified by the organization. "Refurbished" models 3 or 4 years old have had time time for linux experience to solidify and any general design issues to be found. -- George N. White III
