There is usually a lag before linux fully supports newly released
hardware.  Some
vendors have released laptops with pre-installed linux, but using drivers
that don't
immediately appear in linux distributions.   Models intended for use in
large organizations
generally don't change hardware specs as quickly as consumer products, but
when I
tried to purchase a name-brand laptop identical to those used by one large
organization
I was told they are only sold in large batches with Windows Enterprise
images specified
by the organization.

"Refurbished" models 3 or 4 years old have had time time for linux
experience to solidify and any general design issues to be found.
