Before retiring in 2017 after 36 years at college, would usually do a dnf upgrade install on one system, and a clean install on another machine in labs, and compare the differences to see what options were in packages. Sometimes a clean install would install some new packges that s normal update didn't. So, would manually add some or all of them.
