Folks,
 the rescue kernel boots to maintenance mode, but at least I can login and
actually type stuff and see it.  df shows that /dev, /dev/shm, /run, /,
/home, /boot and /tmp are all mounted. What I need to do now is mount an
external USB drive and copy everything over.  I am not sure what I need to
do.  I tried adding a USB drive but it's not detected. It's curious that
maintenance mode on other kernels is unusable.
