My Keeper (note) on autoconnect:

[2] use the name to find the connection status:

$ nmcli connection show "Wired connection 2" | grep connection.autoconnect:
connection.autoconnect: yes

[3] to change autoconnect:

$ nmcli connection modify "Wired connection 2" autoconnect no
$ nmcli connection modify "Wired connection 2" autoconnect yes

Is it really fun for you to write names in quotes?
Why don't you just rename them to something simple?
Do we really have to take on all the cretinism of the Windows world where the
command line is something that comes out of hell?

Tab complete works. And for notes, writing out the full thing is a good idea.
