Are you doing "dnf update" from the command line? If so, does it
appear to finish before it really has?
Barry Scott:
dnf does not know to wait for almods to run the nvidia build.
You have to know to wait until it's finished.
Seems like that's a problem in itself, then. One that really needs
something done about it, since this issue crops up often enough (that
someone reboots after an update apparently finished, before akmods has
finished doing its thing).
If I do a dnf update, everything that gets installed by that shows up
on screen. I see downloads, installs, scripts that call configuration
chnages, etc., for all packages, and when the dnf terminates I expect
that everything has finished.
What triggers akmods to run *separately* and not give any progress
indication?
And why do it that way, instead of inline with everything else?
Because akmods builds an rpm, then uses dnf to install it.
