I wanted to install Fedora 44 MATE on a disk where another system was previously installed, and where partitions for the new system (this Fedora 44) were prepared. And I imagined that I would just format these partitions (and mount other existing ones somewhere under /mnt/). Unfortunately, it seems that the Fedora MATE installer has an exceptionally bad solution for the system location on the disk and that the existing partitions cannot be used.
So I finally installed Fedora 44 Server, where fortunately the previous proven method remained (standard and blivet), and then installed the things needed for the desktop. Everything works - but it's probably not the best way to install a desktop. Did I do something wrong? Is it possible to partition/allocate the disk for the desktop the old way or somehow reasonably? -- Thanks, Franta Hanzlik -- _______________________________________________ users mailing list -- [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected] Fedora Code of Conduct: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/project/code-of-conduct/ List Guidelines: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines List Archives: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/[email protected] Do not reply to spam, report it: https://forge.fedoraproject.org/infra/tickets/issues/new
