I did, though not with those specific words. Either way, it doesn't

It's not an AD issue. I can take AD out of the picture and just have my
desktop enrolled into a plain old AlmaLinux 9 IdM domain (i.e. not in a
trust with AD): The pop up still appears.

A bug that has been present for several releases is not promising. It
must be hard to fix or the problem isn't annoying enough for anyone to
care (yet).

I am going to have to find a way to workaround the issue. It'll
probably involve making my systems less secure. :/
