When I click on a link that fetches a file, the "save" dialogue comes up. Good.
The filename is at the top (correct one), followed by the path (correct one
again, nice) and then a list of potential files in that path.
Lastly, at the very bottom, there are "Cancel" and "Save" buttons.
Should probably be familiar to everyone.
It used to be that "Save" was already selected (highlighted) so hitting
"Return" on the keyboard just does it.
It is not selected anymore, I need to move the mouse to click "Save".
Does hitting the TAB key move focus to what you want, instead?
No, it does nothing.
I've seen this kind of thing in older versions (not at the current
version to try it right now), and the problem being that the file save
list window is not active, nor is the browser window, or any other
window. All the windows are inactive, heck knows where the focus has
gone.
Does not look like it. The focus stays on the window (as the title colour
indicates) and TAB or whatever key
do not get to the "Save" button. I must click it.
This is particularly obvious when you've chosen a desktop theme that
makes the active window clearly obvious with a big colour change. The
default theme (using MATE here) has virtually no distinction being the
currently active window and any others. That's just CRAP user
interface design. Again, just the sort of thing that designers who
give scant regard for multi-tasking do.
I did not make any change to the theme. I blame FF 152, with the new settings
panel,
which probably messed up something. Maybe bad css?
My pet peeve is a when going to save files, the file lister pops up
with the filename for the file to be saved highlighted as if it was
selected and ready for me to modify, but it's not. I'm forced to click
onto the filename and re-highlight it, to be able to change anything.
Somewhere along the line user-interface designers have become stupid.
So you want to know about my major peeve? OK, I feel that you want [:-)].
Right click a tab. The top option was "Reload Tab". My fingers got used to this
click click action.
Then one day this feature was demoted to position #2 when a new action took the top spot
"New Tab to Right"
Then "Add Tab to New Group" was added above my "Reload" and now I am at #3.
Finally (recently) yet another option wad added up high "Add Split View".
My top action which was #1 for years is now #4.
I am not paranoid because they are clearly after me!
cheers
