I have owned tyan dual PIII (still working under freebsd); msi dual amd (working under CentOS), GA-EP35-UD3L (F17), GA-P55-US3L. The Only problems what i had were related to drivers for rtl 811x.x chipsets under centos. Asus laptops have problems with standby mode. But with little hacking can work well.
