this is an old saying that i am familiar with.

i sum it with one word;

   perseverance

in my perseverance with this problem, i went back thru procedure as outlined
in link you provided.

what i had attempted before was to get _just_ the word "Desktop" to show
in widget.

this time, after several more attempts to do so without desired results, i
conceded and left widget showing as;

  Home > Desktop/

just goes to prove another old adage;

  ya cant winum all.

i am curious as to what kde group offers as a solution.

again, i thank you for your help.

btw, i just now found out the current desktop widget 'almost' works.

in curiousness as to who you are, i ran a search with 'ixquick', which
showed 1,960 results, first of which is http://www.markovojinovic.com/,
and i middle clicked it to open a new tab.

i noted something on your right lapel. being of an inquisitive nature,
i right clicked image to save image. in "Save Image" window, it opened
with "[geo][Desktop]", so i selected "Save".

i minimized firefox to view desktop widget, image did not show.

next, i opened "Desktop" in Konqueror file browser and you image was in
list.

so, something is still amiss with the 'desktop widget' and 'Desktop"
directory.

very interesting.
