What I personally do it extract the rpm (using file-roller), and execute <EXTRACTED_DIR> /opt/google/earth/free/googleearth from terminal, I just have to install the deps (either looking at 'rpm -qpR *.rpm' or just installing the libs the binary complains about not finding).
