Nope, they all claim to be using pulse, and pulse thinks it is being
used, because they all show up in the"Applications" tab in the
sound control app. It is just that some apps generate sound and some
only think they are generating sound. mplayer, for instance, prints
the progress info exactly as if it is playing, but no sound comes
out of the speakers.
