to what attachments do you refer?

if i have a short attachment, 30 or so lines or less, i attach it.

if i have what i consider a large attachment, a binary file, or a
graphic file, i store it on a file/graphic server and supply link.

for sure, there are many who do not do such.

just like there is a great many who do not 'chop dead wood' or
reply interspersed.
