I reran ./configure and you are absolutely correct, markdown is marked as no.

I do see that a number of other plugins were not build either: debugger, 
devhelp, geanygendoc, geanylua, geanypy, geanypg, geniuspaste, gitchangebar, 
multiterm, prettyprinter, scope, spellcheck, updatechecker and webhelper.

Are all of the other incompatible with CentOS 7?
