Hello everyone,
today, we just have released version 26.08 of the Genode OS Framework:

The topics range from x86 kernel optimizations, deeply technical
infrastructure work regarding timing and virtual file systems, over
VirtualBox 7, up to the new ability of running a Goa-based Genode SDK
directly on Sculpt OS without virtualization crutches.
Moving towards desktop-oriented features envisioned on our road map, the
new version takes Genode's dynamic configuration concept right to the
VFS level. Thereby the virtual file system environment of an application
can be reshaped at runtime without disrupting the application.
As a major feature for users of Sculpt OS, VirtualBox 7 has become
available, superseding the aging version 6, enabling a wider selection
of recent guest OSes, and noticeably improving SMP performance.
Driver-wise, we are happy to announce that all drivers ported from Linux
consistently use kernel version 6.18.19 now. The drivers for ARM SoCs
have now stepped into line. Further driver improvements concern human
interface devices, like enhanced touchpad support for palm detection and
virtual mouse buttons.
At the kernel-level, our custom base-hw microkernel received numerous PC
performance optimizations that are highly anticipated when using the
kernel as the basis for Sculpt OS. on the latter account, power
monitoring and steering has been added to the kernel as well.
