You need Mono revision later than 61914 to avoid compiler bugs, namely Mono bug #78630 and #78678.
socket.cs doesn't compile, because Mono misses SendTimeout and ReceiveTimeout. I deleted the file for now. Apart from that, Beta 8 should compile and run fine.
