If you could try recompiling without the --build argument and let me know if that fixes the problem, I'd appreciate it.
Brian,Thank you for the message. The configure options I used previously were based on my skimming through the build script for MacOSX in the contrib directory. I got it to work by removing the build line (I didn't need to specify NM after that).
