The config.out and config.log you sent do not seem to match.
The configure output stops at the "checking size of Fortran 77
INTEGER*8..." test, while the config.log stops at the "checking if
Fortran 77 compiler works..." test.
Can you double check that you sent the right files?
Also, please grab both the stdout *and* the stderr from running
configure.
