I can not be sure without more info, but my suspicion is you are missing
/opt/csw/etc/pango/pango.modules or the file contains the 64bit versions.
The files contains 64 bits versions. I wa able to reproduce the problem.
It seems Dago has the answer if you look at the disussion about entry

Does it solves the problem for yu also ?
