Excerpts from Chris May's message of Tue Jul 14 04:21:41 -0400 2009: Hi Chris,
> I'm using the unstable repo, on Solaris 10 5/09 (u7). I have > gcc4core 4.3.3,REV=2009.05.07 > ruby 1.8.7,REV=2009.04.06_p72 > rubydev 1.8.7,REV=2009.04.06_p72 > rubygems 1.3.1,REV=2009.02.16 I'm using: CSWruby: 1.8.7,REV=2009.04.06_p72 CSWrubydev: 1.8.7,REV=2009.04.06_p72 CSWrubygems: 1.3.1,REV=2009.02.16 CSWgcc4core: 4.3.3,REV=2009.05.07 CSWgcc4corert: 4.3.3,REV=2009.05.07 on 10u7/sparc and a `gem install mongrel` runs just fine (after I installed CSWgfile as a missing dependency). --snip-- # gem install mongrel Building native extensions. This could take a while... Building native extensions. This could take a while... Successfully installed fastthread-1.0.7 Successfully installed cgi_multipart_eof_fix-2.5.0 Successfully installed mongrel-1.1.5 3 gems installed --snip-- I did the same on 10u3/i386 using: CSWgcc4core: 4.3.3,REV=2009.05.07 CSWgcc4corert: 4.3.3,REV=2009.05.07 CSWgcc4g++: 4.3.3,REV=2009.05.07 CSWgcc4g++rt: 4.3.3,REV=2009.05.07 CSWruby: 1.8.7,REV=2009.07.06_p174 CSWrubydev: 1.8.7,REV=2009.07.06_p174 CSWrubydoc: 1.8.7,REV=2009.07.06_p174 CSWrubygems: 1.3.1,REV=2009.02.16 CSWrubytk: 1.8.7,REV=2009.07.06_p174 (new ruby test packages) and it ran fine there too. I don't have a 10u7/i386 box to play with here, but I wonder if there is a bug between the gcc4 package and 10u7/i386? Is anyone else seeing issues with gem compilation (fastthread specifically)? > What am I doing wrong? Not sure. Hopefully others can chime in with helpful results from `gem install mongrel` (or `gem install fastthread`)...
