Can confirm. Have a V210 here that complained about defective DIMMs. In fact it
was just two different brands (Samsung and Infineon) where some moron managed
to put one of each into the wrong bank. Swapped the two, all smooth again…

       Hi Ihsan,
I believe the Sun Fire T2000 will take standard DDR2 ECC
DIMMs. I could not find in any Sun specifications what the required memory
clock / timings are. However, I do see DIMMs that are supposed to be compatible
for sale on eBay for very low prices.
When I was given a T2000 a few years and tried adding memory, I found out that
my T2000 was very finicky about the DIMMs. It would not recognise them unless
all were the same (purchased from MemoryMasters on ebay). The following
information comes from the ALOM.

 sc> showfru MB/CMP0/CH0/R0/D0/SEEPROM

 /SPD/Timestamp: MON JAN 08 12:00:00 2007

 /SPD/Description: DDR2 SDRAM, 2048 MB

 /SPD/Manufacture Location:
 /SPD/Vendor: Micron Technology

 /SPD/Vendor Part No: 36HTF25672Y-53EB1
 /SPD/Vendor Serial No: d5101836

Also, if you can take clear pictures of the front and back
of the failed DIMM, this will allow me to determine the exact DDR2 ECC module
that is required.
                    Regards,
      Jonathan

Subject: Memory for Sun Fire T2000 needed
                              Hi all
OpenCSW's web and mail server runs on a Sun Fire T2000 for many years. As we
are used from Sun hardware, the server has worked very reliably over the years.
Unfortunately one of the memory modules has become faulty and the server runs
with half of the memory. Unfortunately I did run out of spare parts and I am
not able to replace the faulty modules.
I would need 1 GB modules and I would appreciate it highly if
someone could support the OpenCSW project with spare parts. If you have memory
modules for a T2000, please get in touch with me.
                                                   Regards
  Ihsan
