Unfortunately, nothing is seen in the logs.
What VMWare Server logs do I look at?
There are bunch of logs files in VMWare log
folder but I could not figure out, which one
will give me information I am looking for?
I will look into all logs to see if I find
any clue.

Hi Manish,
This looks like the the VMware server cannot find the checkpoint, but
it would be nice to know exactly if this is the case. If the VI Client
doesn't show anything, maybe the VMware server logs do?
Also, is there anything useful if you activate the VMware drivers debug?

Hi Tino,
I did some more trials to find out if ESXi does it allright.
And yes it able to resume the VM. I noticed following difference
in the VMWare events.
- On ESXi 4.0
- Register the VM
- Revert Snapshot
- Poweron VM
- On VMWare Server
- Register the VM
And then there are no events being shown. Also the VM shows
suspended state. However when I run the VM using the web console
it comes up alright.
Any ideas about the differences in ESXi and VMWare server for
this behavior?

Hi Manish,
Ok, let's see if we can debug this. Please open the VI Client and try
repeating the "suspend - resume" process, monitoring it from the VI
Client GUI. The aim is to achieve a descriptive error message (like
the checkpoint could not be found).

I suspend the VM using
onevm suspend vm_id
and when I resume using
onevm resume vm_id
it simply fails. The VMWare Server web ui shows that
the vm is registered again, but is in suspended state
only. If I start the VM using VMWare web console it
start all right.
