Hi, Carlos:

Thanks for your reply.

I’ve got that there is no need to reboot the guest. But, is there a method
to trigger the whole thing happen *automatically* in a guest OS?

Thanks

Sam

Hi,

Once the disk is attached, it is up to the guest OS to detect and mount it.
In ubuntu, you can rescan the scsi bus with the command:

echo “- C -” > /sys/class/scsi_host/host0/scan

You may need to change host0 to other id.

Regards.

Hi, forks:

When I attach a datablock type image to a running vm, I need to reboot vm to

I want to know how do you attach an image to a vm and make it ready to use?
Is there a designing of opennebula to enable mounting the attached disk
automaticly?

My environment:
Hypervisor: kvm
Guest os: Ubuntu 12.04, centos 6.3, rhel 6.4
One version: 3.8.4
Ds_mad: fs
Tm_mad:shared

Thanks
