Hi Den, I'd be glad to be corrected, but afaict that's not possible with the current design of kubernetes/openshift services. They don't inspect the tcp/udp payload at all and route only by target ip.
You can modify the service's port number though:
apiVersion: v1
kind: Service
spec:
ports:
- port: 80
targetPort: 8080
[...]
I know the (inelegant) solution to have a middleware that strips "/api"
from the request automatically, either as part of the exposed pod or as
a separate pod/rc.
