After running the software with the public service http://sip2sip.info and testing the solution at SIPIT26 with other ICE vendors and implementations we have concluded that MediaProxy is now able to provide a complete and reliable NAT traversal solution with 100% success rate for all scenarios and use cases that involve different types of NAT when correctly implementing ICE in the SIP clients.
The former draft-ietf-mmusic-ice-19 that is now RFC5245, does provide a reliable solution that has been proven in the field reliable despite its long stay within the standards bureaucratic process, no less than 6 years in case of ICE. In ICE scenarios, MediaProxy takes over the role of dedicated TURN servers that do not need to be deployed anymore in order to provide ICE support for clients when using OpenSIPS as a proxy server. Also as opposed to the use of TURN servers, the operator is able to chose when and how the relay candidate is used on a per call basis. Next week at Amoocon the solution will be demonstrated live by Saul Ibarra. http://amoocon.de/talks/93 Regards, Adrian _______________________________________________ Users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.opensips.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/users
