Thanks for the comments of you both. I just achieved my goal by using
$var(callerip) = $ct.fields(uri);
$var(sendip) = $(var(callerip){s.select,-1,@});
$var(sendip2) = $(var(sendip){s.select,0,:});.
Obviously, $(ct.fields(uri){uri.host}) is a much better solution. Thanks
