HI Liviu,
Thanks for the reply. Yes opensips does start under root with that param set,
But it doesn't appear to be using the spoofed socket that I configured to do
the ping, Still trying to use whats in the usrloc Socket info.

Hi Pasan,
This is not related to the natping socket, rather to an inability of the
opensips process to open up a raw rocket. Can you try to run opensips as root,
just to confirm it fixes the issue?

Hi Guys,
I'm trying to use "natping_socket" parameter in nathelper module to spoof the
source ip of the nat ping from the backup server. But I can't start opensips
with that param set and its failing with following error. The socket IP I
specify is available on the server.
modparam("nathelper", "natping_socket", "10.3.1.251:5060")
ip add output:

inet 10.3.1.251/24 brd 10.3.1.255 scope global secondary enp4s2

This is some what related to this thread [OpenSIPS-Users] Using Contact
replication and HA, But I couldn't come up with a conclusion as discussion
there wasn't complete. Is there a limitation in using this function ? There's
not much info on the doc. I even tried with different ports other than 5060,
But result is still the same.
