No problems at all running the webserver on a separate machine. If you feel
you know the schema well enough, then you can use the CLI, but the webui is
recommended..

Apache version shouldn't matter. You really shouldn't be using PHP 4.. use
5 ;) Ofcourse you'll need the relevant sql drivers within PHP.

Policy related settings are all within the DB. How to connect to the db,
the modules to use and the debugging type stuff is all defined in
cluebringer.conf

If you need further help we have a small but active IRC channel on
irc.freenode.org #policyd. There's a few users that can point you in the
right direction. Or you can indeed post to the list if you prefer.

If you haven't already, check

Subject: [policyd-users] running policyd V2 Web interface on anothe rmachine

As long as the MySQL connections parameters are configured properly, is
there any problem running the Apache user interface for policyd on a
separate server than on a mail gateway or the DB server itself? I
assume it's not sensible to try to do any maintenance via a simple MySQL
client any more... ALso, what's the iminimum version of Apache (1 or
2?) and minimum version of PHP (4 or 5?) necessary?

What about making sure all participating installations remain
synchronized, or is everything other than the basic configuration file
all maintained now directly in the DB? Sorry to ask what may appear to
be trivial questions, but documentation is still pretty limited (though
at least better than in V1).

Thanks,
--Tobias
