No, I’m not able to set up a limit.
Can anyone write me a step-by-step guide, how to set up:
a) hourly 99 messages limit
b) monthly 10000 messages limit
via an empty web gui.
Should I see the courrent conter state in the MySQL database? ( in the
correspontind _tracking table )
Thanks,
Tamas

This is clear, but what is linked to what?
What is a ’Group’ in the web admin? Where is it ’linked’? I don’t see it in
policy members.
What’s are the differencies between Accounting and Quotas? Just that the time
is fixed?
Is is possible to contribute in the web interface?
Thanks,
Tom

Hi,
I’m new to policyd, but want to setup a mailserver, where I can limit the
number of mails sent per month.
Installed policyd v2.1 just fine, got the web interface working well. My
question is, what is a policy and what is an ACL and how are they
connected/related? Someone should draw it down J
I see, that I can setup Policies ( and policy members ) and Groups, but I don’t
see where they connect to each other. What are the relations?
Moreover, I can create an Access Control which I can link to a policy. What is
it good for? Is this just a general mostly yes/no setup?
What’s the difference between Quotas and Accounting?
To accomplish my goal, should I setup a ’blank’ policy and create an
’Accounting’ and that’s it?
The documentation on the site gives an explanation of the various modules
including a brief configuration description.
Did you check this out?
You clearly did not read the documentation.
Policies:
http://policyd.org/content/policies-configuration
Each and every policy element is explained.
Access control:
http://policyd.org/content/accesscontrol
First paragraph "Access control refers to plain and simple access control you
can perform on email, this includes holding, rejecting, discarding (dropping),
filtering or redirecting."
Accounting:
http://policyd.org/content/accounting
First paragraph "This module supports message count and message cumulative size
over a fixed period of time."
Quotas:
http://policyd.org/content/quotas
First paragraph "This module supports message count and message cumulative size
over a user defined period of time."
At the bottom of this page there is an example of how the counters are used.
