I've commented on the state of policyd v2 in Debian before. It will not be in Debian 8 due to the fact it was removed and the previous maintainers dropped it. I then grabbed it and have been working through the issues. The upstream code is changing to unify naming and so will the name of the package in Debian change. As for a time frame, when I have time.
