The QE distribution has a graphic user interface that can be used to create well formatted input files or check already created input files.. Now I don't remember exactly (I never use it) but you have the possibility to open an existing input file with the GUI and then to save it and at that point the GUI makes a number of checks and spot mispelled / misplaced / non-existent variables ... which are the most common errors in input files. hope this helps, stefano
